Support the Parliament House Cleaners
Parliament House cleaners are taking their third round of industrial action this year, by refusing to clean up after members of parliament and senators during Parliament's Xmas-party period.
They are taking this action after the Abbott-Turnbull government cut their wages after the 2013 election by cancelling the Commonwealth Cleaning Services Guidelines.
The 41 Parliament House cleaners are seeking a modest $1.80 per hour pay rise. They have not had a pay rise since the Liberal government's election in 2013.
Cleaners are amongst the lowest paid workers in Australia, doing a dirty, difficult job. Despite not being glamorous, cleaning is essential for our society, and our parliament, to function.
Will you make a contribution to support the Parliament House cleaners in their fight for respect?
